Synopsis for Blow out the Candles
This compilation that you are about to read is a combination of years of research of facts, figures and information, personal anecdotes and stories contributed by family and friends, and the painful poignant story about me. Blow out the Candles Dear was as difficult and painful to write and compile as it is for the reader to read. The ideas, anecdotes and personal insights contained within the pages were painstaking to compile and could not have been done without some of my dear loving supportive family and close friends. The premise and idea of this book is three-fold in theme. I gathered all my memories and went back in time in my mind and in my heart to remember everything I endured and went through from womb to present adulthood. This story was an opportunity for me to relive all the pain and anguish foisted upon me and actually deal with my agony and express my anger and pain. Because as a child I was stifled from expressing my pain and frustration, it took many years and much support for me to finally share all my thoughts and experiences that brought me to where I am today.
The premise of this work is simple and straightforward. With this work I strive to raise awareness about the ugly, nasty, poisonous habit of smoking in the hopes that people will recognize the folly of their ways. I especially strive to reach parents all over the country and the world and help them to see what their nasty habit is doing to their children. I was was not fortunate enough to get through to my family during my childhood and was not strong enough to stand up to them and convince them to quit smoking. I hope that through reading Blow out the Candles Dear there will be more education brought to the forefront about the dangers of smoking and more children will be spared the pain I had to endure. More and more children are being exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, with all the respiratory diseases brought on by smoking these children don’t stand a chance of having normal proper functioning lungs.
I wasn’t fortunate enough to stand up to my grandmother and
uncle and get them to quit smoking. No one would listen to me due to my
young age. I wasn’t able to get through to my grandmother or uncle and
lost them both to lung Cancer. Who knows? Maybe had I been able to
get through to them and had gotten them to listen to me I wouldn’t need
to write this book today. I’ll never know. I don't want to see
more children have to endure the pain what I endured! Smoking in anyone’s
presence is wrong, especially when they are choking and can’t breathe.
Smoking in the presence of a child whose lungs have barely developed is
wrong, heinous, and downright cruel. There are various physicians and medical
practitioners throughout the country that are striving to make smoking
in front of a child an act of child abuse, which is exactly what it is.
It’s difficult to believe that in this day and age with all the bounty
of information and statistics available, parents still smoke in front of
their kids without a single thought of the consequences. It’s hard to believe,
but it’s true and it happens every minute of everyday. Please read Blow
out the Candles Dear and do your part. See what you can do to end this
horrible menace and save more lives. Give children the chance to live and
have properly functioning normal lungs that they can breathe with. It’s
not fair to put them through that pain. If they plead with you to stop
smoking, then do it. Remember, if they can smell it, the smoke can kill
them!
